    THE BEGINNING OF KG GROUP

    Founded by visionary entrepreneurs Marvin Katz and Sam Goldband, KG Group began its journey as k&g Construction. In the original logo, the lowercase “k” reaches to the sky, while the lowercase “g” plants the roots and together they laid a solid foundation to shape the future of Toronto’s residential landscape.

    THE EVOLUTION OF URBAN TORONTO: THE LEGACY OF BLOOR ST. WEST & YONGE ST

    In 1975, a number of mixed commercial and residential buildings on Bloor Street West and on Yonge Street in Midtown, were constructed that still stand today. These properties showcase the durability and timeless appeal of red brick architecture while blending classic design with functionality. Despite the evolving skyline of Toronto, these structures remain a testament to the city’s architectural heritage.

    FROM VISION TO LANDMARK: TRANSFORMING YONGE & CHAPLIN

    Seizing a prime opportunity to shape Toronto’s Midtown core, KG Group acquired and redeveloped the distinguished commercial property at 1910 Yonge St., commanding the prestigious northwest corner of Yonge and Chaplin. This landmark redevelopment not only enhanced the architectural and commercial sophistication of the neighbourhood but also set a new standard for luxury office environments.

    A DEFINING MILESTONE: ACQUISITION OF HAMPTON HOUSE

    As KG Group’s vision expanded, we acquired Hampton House—the most substantial residential community of our portfolio to date, further solidifying our presence in Midtown Toronto. In a strategic move to enhance operational excellence and resident experience, we relocated our corporate head office on-site, ensuring a more personalized level of service. This landmark acquisition reinforced our leadership in Toronto’s premier residential market.

    PIONEERING RENTAL REPLACEMENT

    With the transformation of the Yonge-Davisville Centre at 1920 Yonge St., KG Group cemented its reputation as a leader in urban renewal. This groundbreaking project also set the precedent of Toronto’s first rental replacement property at 1944 Yonge St. As a pioneer, this development established a legacy of rental excellence.

    EXPANDING KG'S FOOTPRINT

    KG Group’s acquisition of The Oaks at Yonge and Sheppard marked the beginning of a visionary transformation in North York. In partnership with Tridel, we crafted the prestigious master-planned Avonshire community—introducing the iconic Harrison purpose-built rental tower, 4 refined condominium residences, and 150 townhomes. This landmark development stands as a testament to KG Group’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and the evolution of modern urban living.

    REINVENTING LUXURY RENTAL LIVING IN NORTH YORK

    Harrison redefined luxury rentals in the heart of Yonge & Sheppard, offering condo-style apartments with upscale finishes, smart layouts, and a full suite of amenities—including a 24/7 concierge, fully equipped gym, steam rooms, yoga studio, and business centre. It was elevated living with the convenience, stability, and service people deserved.

    KG Group strategically acquired and masterfully reimagined 18 Erskine Ave, unveiling a landmark luxury rental residence completed in 2020. This architectural triumph has garnered multiple prestigious accolades affirming KG Group’s unrivaled excellence in rental housing. 18 Erskine Ave stands as a testament to redefining luxury living.
