As the last few weeks of summer winds down, The CNE returns for another year of crazy fried food, carnival games and fair rides for everyone to enjoy!
While there are many outrageous food concoctions to try this year, here are some favourites that are creating a mouth watering reaction for visitors.
Fran’s – Southern Slang
This sweet and savory sandwich is the perfect comfort food for mourning the loss of summer. Featuring a deep fried chicken in between two cinnamon sweet buns, topped with coleslaw and drizzled with chocolate Sriracha sauce.
Hotbunzz – The Juicy Oink
Worth the wait in line, this featured bun consists of slow roasted pulled pork and five spice pork belly, longanisa sausage, crispy pork skin, and a pork dumpling layered with okonomiyaki sauce, Japanese mayo and honey apple slaw.
The King of Curds – The Great Canadian
It wouldn’t be a Canadian fair without a twist on the classic Canadian poutine. The King of Curds presents their twist on the Canadian staple by featuring deep fried cheese curds which are sprinkled with icing sugar and served with maple syrup.
Sugar Mountain – The Cake Shack
The CNE would not be complete without indulging in a sugar fix! Sugar mountain’s creative dessert features a brownie, layered with cheesecake, a chocolate dipped sugar cone and topped with a doughnut and some cotton candy for those who need that extra sugar rush.
